Maria Nasta, FNP-C, Nurse Practitioner

 

Maria Nasta is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in the treatment of arthritis, osteoarthritis and other related autoimmune diseases. She completed her undergraduate education in Nursing in 1991 from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque which is where she spent a majority of her life growing up. After spending about 5 years working in an Intensive Care setting she obtained a job in an occupational health setting for one of the leading semi-conductor companies in the world, where she spent 14 years of her career managing musculoskeletal and industrial injuries, as well as assist employees with disabilities lead productive working lives. Maria has re-located multiple times while employed in the Occupational Health environment and spent some time in the Boston area where she attended Graduate School at Simmons College in the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner Duel Degree Program with the Harvard School of Public Health. While in Boston, Maria presented at national conferences on topics such as threat preparedness from a corporate response to bioterrorism and natural disasters and a Semiconductors experience with injury management and a successful safety program. After 4 years in Boston she was transferred to the Chandler, Arizona facility. Maria completed her post-graduate degree from the University of Phoenix at the on-site Hohokam Campus. She received her Rheumatology experience though her internship and received her Post Graduate training from the American College of Rheumatology Certification program.

Personally, Maria enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She also spends time in her kitchen cooking all viarieties of foods from Italian (her favorite), Asian, to Vegetarian dishes. Maria also loves to drive fast cars and watch ESPN every chance she gets. While living in Boston she caught the New England fever and is a die-hard Patriot, Celtics and Red Sox fan.She looks forward to continuing her long term goals of continuing her education.
